59ers, Mustangs, Indians Remain Atop RSN Top Ten

rsn-logoNot much has changed at the top of this week's Region Sports Network prep football top ten. Andrean, Munster and Lake Central remain as the top three teams after all pulled out impressive wins in Week Six.

But the RSN takes not of a few things rounding out the rest of the poll.

Rensselaer Central's explosive offense took a little longer to get going last week in a 40-17 win over West Lafayette, but the 6-0 Bombers still jumped to No. 4 in the poll, the highest rank they have seen this season. They switched spots with now No. 5 Crown Point, which needed overtime to win on the road against a struggling Valparaiso squad.

"The overtime magic continues for the Bulldogs as they pick up their second OT win on the year. While that’s all well and good, this team is too talented to go into extras against Valparaiso, so they drop a spot," the RSN staff explains.

Morton jumps up from No. 7 to No. 6 after a 56-12 route of East Chicago Central and No. 7 Whiting is up a spot after a 34-7 win over Hanover Central to keep their dreams of an undefeated season alive. The Oilers are heading into a "battle of the unbeatens" game as they host 6-0 Calumet this Friday, but the RSN staff is already predicting Whiting will "show the Warriors who the boss in the GSSC is."

Kankakee Valley, Chesterton and Lowell round out the top ten this week. The Red Devils are back among the ranked after outscoring their opponents 128-53 over the last three weeks following an 0-3 start.
