2018 “Young Philanthropist” Madisyn Wimple Celebrated her 10th Birthday with St. Jude House and Hopes to Start Her Own Non-Profit

Madisyn Wimple, recently awarded the 2018 “Young Philanthropist” honor from Association of Fundraising Professionals Northwest Indiana Chapter, just celebrated her 10th birthday on October 30. She yet again sacrificed her presents and worked diligently to raise needed items on the St. Jude House wish list and funds!

“You are never too young to make a difference, no matter how small of an act, and it’s never too late to help change someone’s life,” Madisyn said.

In terms of the amount of help she can offer, Madisyn sees the sky as the limit. Her parents, family, and friends are looking forward to seeing her continue to grow and inspire others. At the young age of 10, Madisyn is already eager to start her very own non-profit.

“For her to begin this at 6 years old and continue it year after year is just a remarkable thing. She is not only an inspiration to us as her parents but also to her sisters, her family, her friends, and the community,” Wimple said.

Madisyn made an impression on her community and on her distant family members, as well.

“My sister called me from Maryland this weekend and said that my niece wants to do the same thing for their local shelter for her birthday this year, but wants to honor Madisyn and do it in her name,” Wimple said.

Shaya’s niece is currently organizing a “Madisyn’s Spread the Love Project” in Maryland for her upcoming birthday in February.

“Madisyn is an inspiration for all ages and a great example of our mission, which is to celebrate life and serve with joy,” said Ryan Elinkowski, St. Jude House Director. “She celebrates her life each year by serving and helping others, and it is truly amazing!”

Madisyn’s efforts have spread throughout the region, including many local businesses that contributed to her dream. All efforts gained a total of $600 in cash donations between a Facebook fundraiser and cash from the businesses.

The businesses that contributed and collected the full month of October are:
