2016 Drive One 4 UR School – Chesterton High School Band Boosters

Chesterton-High-SchoolAs part of the Ford Motor Company’s “Drive One For Your School” program, Chesterton’s Lake Shore Ford and members of Chesterton High School’s parent Band Booster organization are working together to help support the band program and music education in the Duneland Schools. Lake Shore Ford and the Ford Motor Company have committed to donate $20 for each adult that comes out to the Chesterton High School Parking Lot on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. to test drive a new Ford vehicle.

This is the fifth annual “Drive One For Your School” event to be hosted at CHS. Past years have seen nearly 300 Duneland-Area residents show their support by coming out and enjoying a test drive.

Since the program’s inception in 2007, the Drive One For Your School program has generated over $12 million dollars in donations for high schools nationwide. The money raised locally from this event has helped to ensure that music education remains a vital part of the curriculum in our schools.

Lake Shore Ford representative Don Hadley said, “I’m excited about the response we’ve had to this event in the past and I’m really looking forward to seeing the community’s support for Chesterton High School and the CHS Band program this weekend.” “CHS students in all of our co-curricular and extra-curricular organizations have enjoyed a great deal of support from the Duneland community over the years, and Ford’s program is an excellent example of that generous support,” said Michael Scheiber, CHS Director of Bands.

Lake Shore Ford in cooperation with the Ford Motor Company will donate up to $6000 based on the number of adult drivers that take part in this event. The band program has come close in the past, but the group has not yet reached the $6K mark. “We’re hoping folks will take a few minutes on Saturday to enjoy driving a brand new Ford vehicle, and at the same time, help us reach our financial goal,” said CHS Band Booster chairman Joe Sabol.
