Students, family members and teachers participated in Jackson Elementary School’s Color Fun Run hosted by the PTO on Sunday, Oct. 5 on the track at Chesterton Middle School.
Students collected pledges for every lap they ran or walked around the track. Parents and family members were invited to run/walk as well. Several local area businesses donated food, beverages and goodie bags for the participants.
After every lap, students received a bead for their lap necklace and earned a trip to the “Color Zone,” where teachers enjoyed spraying students and parents with colorful powder.
The Color Run event served as the main fundraising effort for the 2014-2015 school year. Money from the Color Run allows the PTO to provide funding for many special programs during the school year.
