HammondHSSep1Spirit Wear Wednesdays

Hammond High has been hit with new faces and subjects as you walk through the doors of the Wildcat Nation, the school year of 2015-2016 is something to bring hope and joy to the school. The spirit is increasing with a roar in the school, this month at HHS the students will be able to wear spirit wear, college wear and jeans every Wednesday. The excitement is instilled in the mind. Spirit is huge for Wildcats, we take our name seriously and our pride to heart. This month purple and white will be bleeding through the halls, as fall sports continue.

New Atmosphere

The first day of school brought on a new feeling, there are more classes, new teachers and subjects. HHS has brought back a very special class, African American Studies. This class has not been in HHS for over seven years. The students are welcoming the new content well and everyone is excited to learn about a different aspect of history. There are more classes such as anatomy, sociology and etc. Along with the courses the shine comes on the teachers, HHS welcomes Ms.Eggers. She works half the day at Clark, which is HHS's rival school, and the other half at HHS. This shows that professionalism and sportsmanship come a long way for the wildcats. Something to be proud of and look forward to for the remaining of the year.

Athletics

Fall sports are going extremely well, the Football team has been doing great as well as the soccer team and volleyball. Sports play a huge role in school and for HHS they play a huge role in the interaction between students. The class of 2016 has a lot to be proud of in many different sports. Being the most athletic class and bringing a lot of titles back to the school. As the ambition and heart continue HHS cheers on the fall sports and commend them on the great work they have done so far, and to continue making the school proud.

Clubs

Bible club, yearbook and literary magazine are on the hunt for new members to continue the shine and brilliance of students talents. There is a lot to look forward to from all the returning clubs and new clubs being established, HHS has burst open with creativity.
