Schererville 150th Birthday Celebration
Please come and celebrate Schererville Indiana's 150th Birthday September 9th and 10. Enjoy Family fun and entertainment food vendors, and hot air balloon rides!

Michigan City High School Tailgate Party
The Michigan City Area Schools Athletic Department invites all Wolves fans to attend a Tailgate Party on Friday, September 9, from 3:00 - 7:00pm at the “Old Al’s” parking lot across from Ames Field. This free event will feature a DJ, activities for children, and corn hole and other games for all ages.

Valparaiso Popcorn Festival 
Celebrating its 38th year the Valparaiso Popcorn Festival continues to offer family-fun activities for all ages. Over 250 arts & crafts booths, 30 food booths, kids’ games, five-mile Popcorn Panic, two live music stages and the nation’s first Popcorn Parade are only the beginning of the excitement of this incredible festival.

Fitness in the Park 
"Fitness in the Park” will offer a fitness class, facilitated by a YMCA certified fitness instructor, in the beautiful and natural setting of Portage parks. The parks and classes will rotate as listed below. Families are welcome to attend together for all classes

Cash Raffle for Kids 
The Portage Exchange Club is hosting a special $5,000 Cash Raffle for Kids to support kids in the Portage community with new clothing and also the prevention of child abuse.

Door Village Festival 
The 24th Door Village Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Scipio Township Park at 3501 W. Joliet Road. There is No Admission charge to attend the festival; however, there is a Parking Fee. All proceeds from the festival go to improving and maintaining the park.

Sauers Buick GMC Car Show & Family Fun Fest
Sauers Buick GMC will be holding their 12th Annual Car Show and Family Fun Fair from 9:00am to 3:00pm(cst) on Saturday, August 20th at their location at 1900 East Lincolnway in La Porte. The event is free to the public and will feature tons of fun things to do including: games, food, a bounce slide, dunk tank, a bounce house and carnival rides, as well as raffles going on all day long!

Hoosier Star Competition 
La Porte County Symphony Orchestra announces the 11th season of Hoosier STAR. This enjoyable evening of entertainment will take place on Saturday, September 10, 7pm, at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. Hoosier STAR has evolved into one of La Porte County's premier events, where everyone in the audience has the opportunity to vote to determine the first and second place winners.

Race to the Rescue 
Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Hammond Port Authority are proud to announce Race to the Rescue, an event to honor our first responders. Head to The Pavilion at Wolf Lake on Sunday, September 11th for a day full of activities for everyone. Opening ceremonies begin at 7:45 am, 9K run at 8 am, 5k run/walk immediately following the 9k, kids races, 20-mile cycling road race at 10 am, 9k fun bike ride at 1pm, family activities, raffles, and more!

PNW Sinai Forum 63rd Season with Ted Koppel 
The 63rd season of the Purdue University Northwest Sinai Forum will feature noted television news reporter Ted Koppel at 4 p.m. (CT), Sunday, Sept. 11 in the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex on the PNW Westville campus.
