Valparaiso Popcorn Festival
Named the "Best Festival of the Region", the Valparaiso Popcorn Festival continues to offer family-fun activities for all ages. This long-standing community tradition returns for its 39th year. More than 250 arts & crafts booths, 35 food booths, kids' games, the five-mile Popcorn Panic, and the nation's First Popcorn Parade are only the beginning of the excitement of this incredible festival.
Humane Society Calumet Area Paws in the Park
Join Humane Society Calumet Area on September 9th, by walking in our 25th annual Paws in the Park. Paws in the Park is a one mile walk and vendor fair combined. This year our event will be held at Community Park in Munster! This one mile walk helps raise much needed funds for the animals of HSCA and Moraine Ridge Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
Garwood Orchards Apple Fest
Apple Fest Arts & Crafts Fest at Garwood Orchards on September 9th & 10th. Unique regional vendors selling products at our Farm Market during the day on Saturday and Sunday. Market is also open with bakery and gelato bar. UPick fun on the farm with wagon rides and free live music from Noon to 3pm. List of Music for the season follows. Purdue Northwest Fall Sports Festival
Purdue Northwest Athletics welcomes the community to enjoy a day of family fun as the Purdue Northwest Men's & Women's Soccer, Baseball, Softball, and Tennis teams are all in action! Enjoy a Meet & Greet with PNW Players, food, music, kid's activities. and the PNW Student VIP Tent on Saturday at Dowling Park in Hammond from 12-4pm!
Portage Brewfest
Celebrate the region’s booming craft beer industry at this outdoor tasting event featuring local, regional, and national craft brews and wines. This adult-only event will be held in the city's Founders' Square Park and take advantage of the new amphitheater to blast great tunes while guests sample over 65+ varieties of beer. The party continues late into the night when Nawty takes the stage at 8:00 PM and the beer garden opens for guests buy drinks from the bar.
Hoosier Star
Hoosier STAR is more than a vocal competition, it is a highly anticipated social event! In March, LCSO entertained hundreds of casting auditions from finalists throughout Indiana and Southwest Michigan! Now, on September 9, 2017 LCSO will present it's twelfth annual Hoosier STAR, their season kick-off Gala event at the La Porte Civic Auditorium on 1010 Ridge St. in La Porte. On that Saturday evening, the doors will open at 6pm and the party of the year will begin!
Purple Reign, Prince Tribute Show Comes to Blue Chip
Purple Reign, THE Prince Tribute Show, comes to Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa on Saturday, September 9 at 8 pm in the Stardust Event Center. 2017 Sinai Forum: Joe Scarborough
The Purdue University Northwest Sinai Forum will open its 64th season with noted political analyst Joe Scarborough at 4 p.m. CDT, Sunday, Sept. 10 in the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex on the PNW Westville Campus.
