June 8th - 7th Annual Chalk the Walk
Porter County Court House - Valparaiso, Indiana
A family-fun event at which artists create chalk drawings on the sidewalks around the Porter County Courthouse in downtown Valparaiso. The event includes live music and kids' activities.
June 7th - Market on the Square
Founders Square Park - Portage, IN
Market on the Square will begin on June 7th and will continue every Friday from 3pm-9pm through August 30th.
There will be over 20 vendors selling unique crafts, fresh produce, honey, flowers, breads and jams. Plus local food vendors selling food. Bands from the region will begin at 6. Then to top off the evening we will have a family movie at dusk. Come and enjoy a fun family evening at the square!

Locally brewed beer food and assorted other beverages and tasty treats will be available.
Explore the zoo after hours and mix and mingle with your friends.
June 7th - Mount Baldy Summit Hikes
Mount Baldy -
Meet at the Mount Baldy parking lot for a ranger-led hike to the top of the beautiful and famous Mount Baldy. The views of Lake Michigan and the surrounding area are spectacular. No reservation required.
Please note that the Mount Baldy parking lot and beach are open everyday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. The dune itself, however, is still closed for general public use. We strongly ask the public to respect and follow posted closure signs and stay out of roped-off areas.

Its time again for the annual Crown Point Corn Roast. The hours will be 4pm-11pm on Friday night the event will continue on Saturday from Noon-11pm. The event will be in a new location this year at Bulldog Park on West Street near the Crown Point Square.

2019 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Walk for Sojourner Truth House, and because of this milestone, this year's Walk for STH will be a Color Walk! Proceeds support the mission of Sojourner Truth House to provide hope and help for homeless and at-risk women and their children and underserved citizens of Gary and Northwest Indiana. Sojourner Truth House, a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization, is a ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.
June 9th - Miller Woods Hike on the Paul H. Douglas Trail
Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education - Miller, IN
Join a ranger for a hike through Indiana Dunes National Park's exceptional Miller Woods, starting from the Paul H. Douglas Center. The hike is spectacular in its varied habitats including globally rare black oak savanna, interdunal ponds, wetlands, and towering sand dunes which offer incredible views of Lake Michigan and Chicago. Hike lengths can vary from a half-mile to just over three miles. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring water, and insect repellent during the warmer seasons.
