Founders Square Park - Portage, IN

Market on the Square will begin on June 7th and will continue every Friday from 3pm-9pm through August 30th.
There will be over 20 vendors selling unique crafts, fresh produce, honey, flowers, breads and jams. Plus local food vendors selling food. Bands from the region will begin at 6. Then to top off the evening we will have a family movie at dusk. Come and enjoy a fun family evening at the square!

Mount Baldy - 

Meet at the Mount Baldy parking lot for a ranger-led hike to the top of the beautiful and famous Mount Baldy. The views of Lake Michigan and the surrounding area are spectacular. No reservation required.
Please note that the Mount Baldy parking lot and beach are open everyday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. The dune itself, however, is still closed for general public use. We strongly ask the public to respect and follow posted closure signs and stay out of roped-off areas.

Join a ranger for a hike through Indiana Dunes National Park's exceptional Miller Woods, starting from the Paul H. Douglas Center. The hike is spectacular in its varied habitats including globally rare black oak savanna, interdunal ponds, wetlands, and towering sand dunes which offer incredible views of Lake Michigan and Chicago. Hike lengths can vary from a half-mile to just over three miles. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring water, and insect repellent during the warmer seasons.
