ALL ABOUT SPACE

Join us for All About Space! All participants will learn about the different aspects of outer space. Participants will begin in Fureshman Orientation for an exciting space story. We will be building straw rockets in the Science of Silliness Lab, then blast off to the Department of Furry Arts to build a constellation! We will end our space journey in the Department of Phuzzical Education for an astronaut training course with Reggy!

A CHRISTMAS STORY COMES HOME EXHIBIT

Come into the "A Christmas Story" Comes Home exhibit from November 9th to December 31st to see the six animatronic original window displays from Macy's in New York! Each display depicts a different scene from the iconic Christmas movie.

LIVING ARCHITECTURE FAMILY

Drop in for a FREE family day! Join us anytime between 1:00 and 4:00 PM for gallery tours and art projects. Activities are based on our fall exhibition, "Living Architecture." No advance registration is required. LCA’s 2019 Family Day programming was funded in part by a generous grant from Unity Foundation of La Porte County.

YOGA AT THE CIVIC

The practice of yoga is about creating balance in the body by developing both strength and flexibility. This is accomplished by performing a series of postures or "poses" which are designed for specific benefits to each part of your body. Join our Certified Yoga Instructor Becca Masters on Monday and Friday mornings from 8-9 a.m. in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium.

CASAblanca will be a night of festivity to celebrate the 30 Year Anniversary of the CASA Program of Family & Youth Services Bureau. Join us in celebrating the dedication of CASA volunteers who advocate in court for the best interests of vulnerable children in our community.

ART IN THE NATIONAL PARK

Join staff and visitors at Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk to learn how to paint with local artists. The Art Barn School of Art is providing an artist to teach visitors how to paint a picture inspired by the dunes. A canvas and paints will be provided for this free class. The class is limited to 20 adult painters. Be prepared to park in auxiliary parking during the summer due to parking congestion.
