November 10th - City of Hammond Veterans Appreciation Day Parade

Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the City of Hammond presents: Veterans Appreciation Day Parade. Parade Route: Olcott Avenue and 173rd Street East to the Hessville Park Veteran Memorial A brief ceremony at the memorial will immediately follow the parade.

The beloved annual Jean Eberle Parade of Lights will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 (weather permitting). The parade will start at 7 p.m. at Lemon Lake County Park and continue to the Hanover Central High School Cafeteria. Prizes will be awarded and NO entry fee.
November 11th - Lakeshore Paws: Pets for Vets
Lakeshore PAWS - Valparaiso, IN
Veterans should visit the LakeshorePAWS.org website or stop by Lakeshore PAWS for an adoption application, required in all adoptions. If desired, veterans can also view dogs at the Lakeshore PAWS facility prior to Veterans Day.
November 11th - War and the Human Heart, a Concert Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day and Honoring
Valparaiso University - Valparaiso, Indiana
At 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, at the Chapel of the Resurrection, Valparaiso University will present "War and the Human Heart," a special concert event featuring music and multimedia including film clips, to commemorate the Armistice Day Centenary. Featuring music that has never been performed in Northwest Indiana and may never be again, this event is meant to communicate what a veteran's experience is really like.
