Each weekend we bring you 10 Fun Things to Do in Northwest Indiana so you are never without something to do! This weekend has some fun for music lovers, art lovers, a couple family fun events, brewfests and more!

Alice Peacock Concert Benefits Porter County Museum August 22 
Join the Porter County Museum Foundation and Imagine Music at the Memorial Opera House on August 22 at 7:30p for a benefit concert featuring Alice Peacock and local singer/songwriter Kate Myers. Proceeds from the concert support the Porter County Museum Foundation.

Not Just Another Summer Night 
Coming up on August 22 at the Uptown Center for the Performing Arts, NatalieinMotion presents: Not Just Another Summer Night. NatalieinMotion is the creation of Natalie Deryn Johnson, a Portage High School 2008 graduate and a 2012 University of California Irvine graduate. The show starts at 7:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm). Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students. At the door tickets will be $20 for general admission and $15 for students. 1st-Annual Brewathlon Set for Sunset Hill County Park 
BrewAthlon features the best of Northwest Indiana microbreweries. This must attend event starts at 7:30am with a 5k run/walk on the course at Sunset Hill Farm Park and will be followed at 10:00am by the best party in the region this summer. Live music and local food (for purchase) make the event delicious and fun. All proceeds benefit the Foundation For Molecular Medicine, a NWIN nonprofit dedicated to beating cancer right here in our own backyard.

Public Invited to Third Annual PAWS for Homeless Animals Event 
The Kibble Kitchen Pet Pantry’s third annual PAWS for Homeless Animals event has been in the planning phase for several months now, and it all comes to fruition Aug. 23 at Festival Park in Hobart. On that day, there will be more than 70 vendors of all types occupying the park. Tents offering various types of goods and services for both humans and their furry counterparts will be set up alongside a wide variety of food vendors

Red Cross Raffle at Sauers Buick GMC Car Show & Family Fun Fair 
This year Red Cross will be raffling a 2008 Pontiac Solstice! The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 at the Car Show & Family Fun Fair at Sauers Buick-GMC. All proceeds from the days event benefit American Red Cross-La Porte County Chapter Disaster Relief. Enter to win a 2008 Pontiac Solstice and support American Red Cross La Porte County!

Fox Park Music Fest 6 set for August 23 
On August 23, 2014 Guardian Riders is presenting Fox Park Music Fest 6 at Fox Park in LaPorte. Tickets are $5.00 in advance, or $8.00 at the gate. Gates open at 10:00 a.m., music starts at 11:00. Come join us for a day of good music, good food and good fun in a family friendly atmosphere. All proceeds go to support our local veterans, active duty and those less fortunate. Guardian Riders is a non-profit organization.

Third Annual Taste of La Porte Will Offer Tastes & Entertainment 
The 3rd Annual Taste of La Porte, held at the Chamber Square, 803 Washington Street in downtown La Porte will be Saturday, August 23 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. This year we will showcase some of La Porte’s finest establishments and visitors will enjoy tastes from a variety of cuisines and live entertainment.

Pints in the Park 
Pints in the Park will be the first craft beer festival held in Highland Indiana's Wicker Memorial Park. The festival will feature both nationally known and local breweries. General admission includes unlimited beer samples, a commemorative sampling cup, and live entertainment. Food will be available for purchase. VIP admission includes early admittance, unlimited beer samples along with featured brews available only to VIPs, commemorative sampling cup, buffet, and access to a private VIP lounge. General admission Price is 45.00 and VIP is 75.00. Tickets can be purchased online at pintsinthepark.com

Valpo Night Ride, Breakfast & Raffle 
Saturday night is the 4th Valpo Night Ride organized by the Valpo Parks Department and the City’s Pathways Committee. The 15-mile organized evening ride begins and ends at the Butterfield Pavilion, taking cycling enthusiasts in and around the City at a safe pace with police and volunteer support along the route. Perks for participants include a t-shirt, food, and fun like a mid-ride snack at Central Park Plaza.

2014 Portage Community Market 
The Portage Community Market will be held every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning June 1st and ending September 28th. Come and get great produce, crafts, and other items that come from local farms and businesses! Due to the construction of Founder’s Square, it will be held at Woodland Park for the 2014 season.
