Rotary Club Donations Launches Theater Programing for Kids

MOHWitchesBrewHa4th Street Theater presents the “Witches Brew Ha Ha!” The “Witches Brew Ha Ha!” will land at the 4th Street Theater this weekend for three performances as three goofy and not-so-spooky witches hit the stage.

The show is the first in the new Children's Theatre Program at the theater and is made possible by a generous grant from the Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club.

"The Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club is a proud partner of 4th Street Theater, and a supporter of its children's programming,” said Heather Olson, president of the Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club.

“One of Rotary's missions is furthering literacy, and what better way than studying theater to get children to read and live out words on a page. As a community, Chesterton is fortunate to be home to a theater venue that brings our favorite plays to life -- for all ages."

The “Witches Brew Ha Ha!” is appropriate for children of all ages and features three hysterical witches, B. Witch, Sandee Witch and Glitch Witch who perform songs that little ghosts can sing-along to, spooky riddles and rhymes goblins can guess.

The Halloween show is the first of a series of planned performances for children and families and an eventual children's acting program at the theater.

We are excited we are getting our children's program going at our theater. We are presenting "The Witches Brew Ha Ha" for Halloween fun for the kids and this is the kick-off for our program,” said Linda Pauli, president of the board at the 4th Street Theater.

“We are thrilled and grateful to the Chesterton Rotary for giving a grant to 4th Street Theater to start this program and we are putting it to use with this show. This generous support helps our hometown theater grow and expand its offerings to reach more of our community."

Performances are scheduled for Friday evening after the Duneland Chamber of Commerce Downtown Trick-or-Treat event. Families can head over to the theater and find skeletons dancing in the isles! The witches even give Halloween Safety tips to both parents and kids!

The show is written and directed by Michele Gustin-Craig and features; LuAnne Pezel, Andrea Bertsch and Lindsay Elderkin as the witches.

Moms and Dads, grandparents, aunts, and uncles can bring your costumed goblins and make this your Halloween Treat! The big finale that will feature a costume parade across the stage. It’s a perfect place to have your Halloween party!
