Premier Girls Fastpitch will be hosting a PGF National Qualifier tournament at the Crown Point Sportsplex through Monday, June 16.
According to PGF Vice President of Marketing and Media Bill Conroy, approximately 720 girls on 59 teams will be participating in the event, with teams coming from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri and more. On Friday and Saturday, 12U and 14U teams will compete, while 16U and 18U teams will take to the fields Saturdaythrough Monday.
The tournament serves as a qualifier for the 2014 PGF National Championship, which will be played in Huntington Beach, CA. The teams that take first place in the qualifier tournament will be invited to the Premier Division of PGF, and the teams that take second place will be invited to the Platinum Division.
“Premier Girls Fastpitch is based out of Huntington Beach, CA, and was created to allow the best of the best teams to play games against each other and be showcased in an environment with quality venues and quality umpires,” explained Conroy.
Spectators are welcome to watch the tournament, and admission will be free.
