The city of East Chicago, through its Department of Redevelopment will host an open house on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th at 4004 Deal Street. The event will showcase the newly modernized home that will be used to develop the standards for the exterior improvements of other homes in need of revitalization. The home, which was gutted by a severe fire, has been completely rehabbed including reconstruction of both the interior and exterior.
After receiving federal funds, the Redevelopment Commission is proud to announce that it has designated current funding to begin a new program called Standards for the Exterior Renovations Program. The home on display is part of a duplex and now offers a beautiful façade. The open house will be from 2pm to 5pm on both days.
