Today’s competition decided who would get to compete in the finals for Saturday. Three Munster swimmers found out they placed for finals on Saturday and were very emotional.

“You’re on top of the world because you’ve worked so hard in training and tapering. It’s like you spend like weeks, months, and years for like us, it’s training. You get really close at some points to finally making that shot, to finally get that placement. You’re on top of the worls because it feels like all that training was for something. You went out there, you swam hard in the pool and now you get to feel it. You get to feel that reward.” -Ady Mitchell (Munster)

“I mean, when I was swimming, I did my flip turn, saw the person next to me, and I just wanted to go. I didn’t think, I had no thoughts. It was just pure muscle memory and instinct. I didn’t have a time in mind so I was just swimming. When I hit the wall and looked up. The time was 25.99; I was not expecting to hit that so I’m so ecstatic.” -Alyssa Torres (Munster) “

“It was just very surreal, especially since the 2-3 relay isn’t something I swim very often. The fact that they put me in this, in the relay and they trusted me to be able to do this, and I went my best time I’ve ever gone in the 50.26.8. It’s just that I’ve worked so hard the four years I’ve been in high school swimming. It’s just very surreal, like being able to place in top 8 for a relay I don’t swim, it’s history.” -Zoe Clark (Munster)
