Public invited to February 8 ceremony and celebration
Sitting on the second floor of the Savannah Center, separated from the Savannah Gymnasium by a glass door donning the famous RedHawk logo, is the newly created Indiana University Northwest Athletics Hall of Champions.
The space celebrates past accomplishments and inspires current and future RedHawks athletes. It is affixed with trophies, All-American jerseys and plaques that tell the history of some of the great IU Northwest athletics teams, players, coaches, supporters and more. Additionally, touch screens and interactive displays allow guests to access the athletic department’s history through interactive content.
As IU Northwest Athletics prepares to induct the 2024 Hall of Fame class — which includes former women’s basketball player Sharon Houston, the 2009-10 women’s basketball team and philanthropists Terry and Karen McMahon — it’s excited to announce a ceremony to honor this year’s inductees and officially unveil the Hall of Champions.
The induction ceremony and brunch will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, inside the Moraine Student Center. The ribbon-cutting will occur from 12:15-12:45 a.m. at the Hall of Champions in the Savannah Center.
Guests are encouraged to stay for the women’s basketball game at 1 p.m., as IU Northwest takes on CCAC opponent Trinity Christian College. Those who attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be admitted to the game(s) free of charge.
The event is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and fans alike. While the event is free, we ask you to donate to the IU Northwest RedHawks Athletic Scholarship to support current and future student-athletes.
