Crown Point Hires New Police Officer

Mayor Pete Land swore in the newest Crown Point police officer during the Wednesday, April 17, Board of Public Works and Safety meeting. 

Joseph Ivezic, badge No. 132, is a 2018 graduate of Whiting High School. While in high school, Ivezic joined the Indiana Army National Guard and served until 2023. 

In Novemeber 2022, Ivezic graduated from the Northwest Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Class 22-48. Previously, he served with the Hammond Police Department. 

Ivezic’s hire brings the department to 50 full-time, sworn officers. His first day on shift will be Monday, April 22. 

“We’re excited to have Officer Ivezic join the Crown Point Police Department,” Crown Point Police Chief Ryan S. Patrick said. “His previous experience and military background make him a great fit for the department.”
