Lake Cable and the City of Valparaiso celebrated Lake Cable’s newly expanded Valparaiso location at 2300 E. Evans Avenue with an opening ceremony today. Lake Cable purchased the building formerly owned by Regal Beloit and is expanding its Valparaiso operations. “We’re so pleased to support Lake Cable’s Valparaiso operation and look forward to their continued success,” said Mayor Matt Murphy. “We’re glad to work together to help businesses reach new heights with the help of Valparaiso’s workers and community.”
Bill Runzel, Lake Cable’s CEO, joined Valparaiso, state and other leaders in celebrating the opening of the company’s newest facility, adjacent to their existing manufacturing site on Evans Avenue. “Lake Cable is very proud to be a member of the great Valparaiso community. Since arriving here in 2013, our operation has grown to 368,000 square feet under roof and nearly 200 employees. This new facility allows Lake Cable to continue to expand our successful industrial power insulated cable business,” he said.
“Our investments in new equipment here have totaled more than $7.5 million in the last two years alone, and we will be installing new production lines and hiring more people from the Valparaiso community in the next few years. A big thank you to Mayor Murphy and his team for embracing Lake Cable’s plans and helping us grow in wonderful Valparaiso.”
Established in 1995, Lake Cable is a fourth-generation wire and cable manufacturer with more than 620 employees throughout its five locations in Indiana and Illinois. Lake Cable manufactures UL listed low voltage electronic, industrial, utility, custom OEM and broadcast quality cable. To learn more about Lake Cable, visit LakeCable.com.
