Northwest Indiana residents looking for oral health or adult and children's primary care have new options in providers that see patients in convenient locations close to home. Marram Health Center, a federally qualified health center, has announced the addition of two health professionals to its Gary and Hebron locations. Federally qualified health centers such as Marram Health provide primary care services to underinsured and uninsured individuals.
Marram’s line up of new specialists includes Dentist Jihan Doss, DMD, MPH, seeing patients out of the Gary location and Family Nurse Practitioner Erica Corradino, FNP, seeing patients in Hebron.
Part of good oral, or dental, health for teeth and gums includes care and treatment that enhances an individual’s ability to taste and chew food as well as to speak and smile. Doss provides compassionate dental care for both adults and children.
Doss earned her doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016. She has been practicing in Northwest Indiana for the past six years. Doss currently serves as an adjunct faculty member for Midwestern University's College of Dental Medicine.
According to Doss, the model of care her patients should expect during an appointment is one of transparency.
“I try to make sure I explain everything to the patient and give them all their options,” she said. “I want my patients to feel comfortable because I understand that coming to the dentist is not easy for most people.”
Services include dental exams, digital X-rays, teeth cleanings, tooth removal, screenings and treatment, and emergency adult and children’s dental care.
She is now accepting new patients. Gary health clinic hours, 3229 Broadway (University Park Medical Center), are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
For the dental clinic, located at 3229 Broadway Ave, Suite 115, the hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Doss sees patients Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Call 219-806-3000 to schedule an appointment.
Corradino is now serving patients at Marram Health's Hebron location. Corradino is currently accepting new patients, providing compassionate healthcare for adults and children.
Corradino graduated from Indiana University Northwest with a Master of Science in nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification in 2019. Prior to becoming a family nurse practitioner, Corradino served as a registered nurse for 15 years.
As a board-certified nurse practitioner in Family Practice, her care centers on disease prevention.
“My philosophy of nursing is to provide team-based, individualized patient care and education for health maintenance and disease prevention,” Corradino said. “I love the education part of my job. Teaching my patients ways to prevent disease is my priority.”
Marram Health Center's Hebron clinic hours at 704 South State Road 2 are Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Corradino sees patients from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information or to make an appointment with Corradino, call 219-996-2641.
