Aldi Acquires Former Acacia Church

The grocer plans to redevelop the site in Valparaiso on US 30

Aldi recently closed on the acquisition of the former Acacia Church on US 30 in Valparaiso, IN. The grocer will be tearing down the former church located at 2352 Morthland Dr. and redevelop it into a new store. In keeping with its aggressive growth path, ALDI recently stated they plan to open approximately 150 new stores throughout the country and they remain on track to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022.

Latitude Commercial – Retail Group represented the Seller and CBRE of Indianapolis represented the Buyer, Aldi, in the transaction. “The buyer was great to work with in the transaction and I know the Seller was happy with the outcome. We had a number of buyers that made offers on the property and the seller decided to go with Aldi because of the confidence that this would get to a closing table” – Aaron McDermott, CCIM, President of Latitude Commercial.
