The Hobart High School Brickies hosted the Lowell Senior High School Red Devils Thursday night. Lowell started with the tip, but the Brickies responded instantly and stole the ball, with #11 Quinten White scoring the first point. The score stayed close for most of the quarter, but Lowell pulled ahead, ending the first quarter with Lowell winning 22-12.
Hobart started to chip away at Lowell’s lead, but Lowell pulled ahead once again and ended the half with a score of 41-28.
In the third quarter, Lowell gained 6 points within the first minute, and continued to build a distance from Hobart with a score of 62-36 at the end of the third. The final score of the night was 72-48, with the Red Devils taking the win.
Head coach of Lowell Joseph Delgado discussed his thoughts on the win.
“I thought we played good team basketball. We moved the ball well,” Delgado said. “We had a lot of guys scoring. We could always do better on defense, but I’m happy with the way we played.”
The Red Devils (11-7) will next face off against the Rensselaer Bombers (10-8) on Tuesday, January 23rd at 7 pm. The Brickies (4-11) will next play the Highland Trojans (10-10) on Friday, January 19th at 7 pm.
