Although all high school sports bring excitement to the GreatNews.Life team, the power and drive showcased by athletes in the sport of wrestling has been exceptionally notable this weekend. GreatNews.Life covered all four sectional championships in the Region, successfully highlighting every team and capturing the raw emotion and pivotal moments of the day on Saturday.
Our communities saw a ton of talent this weekend in each of the four sectionals: East Chicago Central, Portage, Crown Point, and La Porte. This talent was a work-in-progress that began back in October when these students made training their priority to maximize their potential. When the sectional championship finally came, their long journey filled with many hours of hard work manifested in intense competition both personally and for the teams as a whole.
In every match on Saturday, it was clear how passionate and prepared these kids were to tackle one of the most important days of their year.
While these athletes were competing, GreatNews.Life journalists captured each match from the sidelines, making sure to celebrate the fan base, too. With Kali Beatty at the La Porte Sectional, Tommy Elwood at Portage, Curtis Hankins at Crown Point, and Sergio Valdes at East Chicago Central, our team captured photo galleries for our readers and followers and gave wrestlers, families, coaches, and fans the coverage they’ve come to expect from GreatNews.Life.
