On November 15, 16, and 17, the Bishop Noll Drama Department presented the fall play. This year’s play was “Fools” by Neil Simon.
“Fools” is about a village who has a curse that makes all the villagers stupid. A new school teacher, Leon Tolchinsky, comes to try to break the curse. However, the only way to break the curse is if Sophia, a young girl, marries an evil man, Count Gregor Yousekevitch. Things take a toll when Sophia and her school teacher Leon Tolchinsky fall in love with each other.
The cast was made up of 19 students, while the crew was made up of 26 students. The play was directed by second-year director, Mrs. Kayla Konkle.
“This was the second performance that I have done with Drama Club and the first play I’ve ever done and I can definitely say that it was a blast! The play “Fools” is so full of personality and charm that anyone can fall in love with, especially me,” said senior Chris Valdes.
The BNI Drama Department put on another successful fall play and they can’t wait until the spring musical.

From prom to yearbook, to communications specialist, Mrs. Jennifer Florek does it all. Florek is almost on her fourth year working at Bishop Noll.
As the communication specialist, she helps with marketing, admissions, and general news and information. This includes working on the written press releases and publications, photography, website content, and social media engagement.
Florek is also the adviser for Bishop Noll’s yearbook, The Marquette. This is her third year as the adviser. As a former yearbook staff member at her high school, she really enjoys sharing the yearbook process with her students.
“Of course, the best part is when the boxes of finished yearbooks arrive and we open them for the first time and see the product they created,” Florek said.
Finally, Florek is in charge of the prom committee. She helps lead the juniors in creating and designing prom. She has been the prom head for three years.
“The most rewarding part is to see how beautiful it all turns out and to play a part in making lifelong memories for the juniors and seniors who attend,” Florek said.
When Florek isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family as well as exploring new places.
The Bishop Noll Community is extremely grateful for all the Florek does for the school.
Student spotlight
Bishop Noll is a second home to junior Jasmin Romo. From having a seven-hour school day to having soccer practice to helping out at the boys soccer games, she can always be found somewhere on the Bishop Noll facility.
“My favorite thing about being a Warrior is that we are all family. We accept others no matter what their background is,” Romo said.
Romo is on the varsity soccer, swimming, and tennis teams at Bishop Noll. She is also a student athletic trainer. As a trainer, she assists the athletic trainer at all home games. This job entitles her to make ice bags, check coolers, make Gatorade, help wrap ankles, and help injured athletes off the court or field.
“My favorite thing about being a student athletic trainer is being able to see how to handle medical situations that could happen at any moment. And also making new friendships with other athletes,” Romo said.
When Romo isn’t playing in a game, doing homework, or helping out the athletic trainer, she likes to spend time with her family and friends.
