Merrillville High School hosted a Technology Boot Camp on Saturday, October 13th. The Technology Boot Camp was a great success, and we were very excited to have this opportunity open for all our staff to have the chance to participate. We had 60+ teachers and administrators from Merrillville Intermediate, Pierce Middle, and Merrillville High School, as well as Superintendent Nick Brown in attendance during each session from 8-12.
Trainers from EdTechZone, a group of technology educators from central Indiana, provided training in effective technology integration strategies (SAMR Model), student/staff internet safety, security and etiquette, how to use Google Classroom, and instructional strategy tips and tricks. It was a great day for everyone to learn about the newest technology available.
Attendees also had the opportunity to win prizes including a book on Google Skills, gift cards from the Merrillville Chick-fil-A, a popcorn gift tin from Chicagoland Popcorn and a set of Bose Wireless headphones donated by the Merrillville Best Buy. The community really came together to provide great prizes!
