Chesterton High School’s Swim Team took their sport training beyond the school pool by bringing their “land conditioning” to the new Duneland Boys & Girls Club! The new Club boasts an Exergaming Studio which blends physical activity with technology, providing a different type of exercising and conditioning for the team sport. In addition, the swim team incorporated the Club’s new rock wall as part of their workout routine for the day. The high school swim team also met with and spent time with Club members.
“Our Duneland Club truly is for the community,” states Ron Ranta, club director of Duneland Boys & Girls Club. “One of our priority outcomes is to help young people develop healthy lifestyles, whether they are a Club member or not. I am proud that our Club offers the type of equipment that Chesterton High School’s swim team finds useful to ensure their upcoming season is successful. I hope more school and community groups take advantage of what our Club offers for the residents of Chesterton.”
