Business After Hours Fundraiser for Chef Jason

Chef-JasonChef Jason grew up in the Whiting area and worked as a quality control inspector for Ford Motor Company and lead supervisor for Aramak Service Master before deciding to pursue his passion for cooking while awaiting a heart transplant. He attended culinary school starting 2006 and graduated in 2009 from IVY Tech Community College with an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Hospitality Management.

Jason received his first heart transplant in November 2005. After almost nine great years with his transplant, he has developed "Chronic Vascular Rejection." Chef Jason will be going into the hospital to await another transplant once the latest addition to his great family arrives. Jason is a family man who enjoys spending time with Jesse, his wife of 18 years, and their three wonderful children, Skylar (16), Mike (13), and Bella (1).

Outside the kitchen, Jason is the Co-Chair for New Beginnings Transplant Support Group, which offers support for Pre and Post-Transplant recipients and caregivers.
